Ownership of real estate is allowed, but it is not absolutely.
Different kinds of property

• Real estate: the land and all the attached man-made structures
• Real property: real estate plus a bundle of rights.
Different kinds of rights
• air rights
• water rights: littoral (lake) rights and riparian (river) rights
• surface rights
• subsurface rights
Fixtures: personal property that has been permanently attached
Trade fixtures: fixtures that have been attached for a business purpose
Emblements: plants or crops on a piece of property

The Application Process
The process for attaining a real estate license consist of six parts. Depending on the type of license you are seeking, certain parts may not be applicable.
- Background Check – GCIC Report
- Investigation/Background Clearance – IF APPLICABLE
- Successful completion of Education Requirements
- Fulfill Experience Requirements – IF APPLICABLE
- Successful completion of Examination
- Application for Licensure or Certification
